Roland SI-80S Video-MIDI Sync Interface September 26, 1997
In an effort to address the various needs of the growing Roland VS digital recording products user group, Roland is introducing an affordable way to sync VS audio to consumer video equipment: the SI-80S Video-MIDI Sync Interface.
The SI-80S converts the LANC/Control L protocol found on a wide range of consumer and "prosumer" video equipment, including video cameras, video decks and video editors, to MIDI Time Code (MTC). This allows the audio from Roland VS recording products and the other MTC-compatible gear to sync precisely to video-perfect for applications ranging from home videos to commercial spots. With the "V-Xpanded" VS-880's onboard effects automation, effects like reverb, delay, etc. can be sync'd to video as well.
The SI-80S supports NTSC, DF/NDF and PAL video formats, and includes an Auto-Setup button which makes instant audio-video communication easy.
The Roland VS-880 Digital Studio Workstation offers 64 tracks of high-quality digital recording, mixing and effects processing (with the optional VS8F-1 Effects Expansion Board) in a compact, table-top hard disk audio workstation. Its intuitive user interface and powerful audio recording and editing features have made it a very popular tool among professional and aspiring musicians, engineers and producers worldwide.
