Lexicon Announces WAVE Driver for Lexicon Studio; Mac Drivers Due in October September 26, 1998
A new WAVE Driver for Lexicon Studio provides compatibility with any software program that supports the WAVE file format for the PC. This new software release brings the functionality of Lexicon's PC-90 reverb, software acceleration and I/O control of digital and analog sources to all WAVE-compatible software programs.
The WAVE Driver is a standard developed by Microsoft® that virtually every audio software developer has adopted for broad compatibility between audio software and hardware. Some examples of audio software programs which support WAVE Drivers include: Steinberg's Cubase VSTTM, E-Magic's Logic Audio PCTM, Syntrillium's Cool Edit ProTM, Cakewalk's Pro Audio 7TM, SEK'D Samplitude 24/96TM, Sonic Foundry's Sound ForgeTM and AcidTM, and JBL's SmaartTM.
In addition to the new WAVE Driver, Lexicon Studio continues to support ASIO (Audio Streaming Input Output). ASIO, developed by software company Steinberg Gmbh, offers compatibility between Lexicon Studio and any ASIO-compliant program such as Steinberg's Cubase VST, and Opcode's Vision DSPTM.
Shipment of Apple Macintosh Drivers for Steinberg's Cubase VST Mac and Opcode's Studio Vision are planned for October, 1998.
Lexicon Studio is a professional audio hardware suite designed to integrate a desktop computer with the diverse assortment of audio hardware found in typical audio production environments.
