Akai Demonstrates EtherView Control Software
October 3, 1999
Akai Digital is demonstrating their powerful new EtherView
machine control software at the AES Convention in New York City.
The Akai EtherView software runs on standard Windows (95/98/NT) based computers
and allows the control of multiple DD8 Plus digital audio dubbers and DD16PB Plus
16-track playback systems from a single computer screen.
Connecting via the DD8 Plus/DD16PB Plus' built-in AKAINET (Ethernet) port,
the new software controls functions from System Setup to sophisticated session
management -- even on multiple machines in different rooms or stages.
Commonly used commands such as testing hardware configuration, display and
edit settings of individual machines and store/recall machine setting templates
are accomplished quickly and easily and from one centralized location.
For total control, users can display real-time status and meters of multiple
players and recorders, load projects onto specific players and create multi-machine
projects for global reel change all from a single PC computer monitor. EtherView
can even centralize error management, simplifying even the most complex machine
room configuration or project.
