Akai Announces RE32 Multi-Track Remote Controller
October 3, 1999
Akai Digital has introduced their new multi-track remote
controller, the RE32, at this Fall's AES Convention.
The Akai RE32 allows real-time control of transport and record functions for
up to 128 tracks of audio and comes equipped with Akai's SuperView graphic display
driver - bringing complete remote tracking and playback control to the Akai DD
and DR series recorders. Designed for post production, professional audio applications
and recording studio use, the RE32 is the total solution for multi-track, multi-machine
control.
Users can now control multiple Akai DD8 Plus digital audio dubbers and DR16
Pro recorders via the built-in AKAINET (Ethernet) connection with sample accurate
lock between multiple machines. The RE32 also provides traditional recording and
monitoring functions, extensive locate functions, and detailed track editing with
waveform display -- while occupying only a standard 19" rack mount space.
The RE32's control surface features easy to use, dual 32 track key rows, and
four banks offering comprehensive control of up to 128 individual tracks. Large
dedicated transport keys and weighted jog wheel are included and a standard ASCII
keyboard can be added for titling. An LED timecode display, LCD graphic display
and Akai's SuperView VGA output are also included.
The Akai RE32 will be available in October, 1999 at a suggested retail price
of $2,495.00.
