Arboretum Debuts Hyperprism for Soundscape
October 1, 1999
In a joint AES announcement Arboretum Systems Inc. and Soundscape
Digital Technology today unveiled the new Hyperprism digital effects package for
the Soundscape SSHDR1, Mixtreme and R.Ed digital audio workstations.
"We welcome Arboretum Systems' first entry into the family of Soundscape
format DSP effects plug-ins." commented Soundscape President, Chris Wright.
"Hyperprism is a well established leader and innovative multieffects package
that provides Soundscape users with a range of highly developed, top quality effects
for music, post-production and sound design. DSP hardware based effects have important
advantages compared to
DirectX types, which although have their place, do not provide the real-time performance
that a near zero latency DSP process provides, for example, allowing live use
with external inputs."
"This alliance with Soundscape allows us to deliver professional-level
Hyperprism performance, with low latency and 24-bit sound quality, for the first
time on a Windows machine" said Arboretum founder and CEO Georges Jaroslaw.
"Soundscape's well-segmented product line and their strong position in the
broadcast and postproduction markets make them an ideal partner for Arboretum
and Hyperprism."
The initial release will consist of the following digital signal processing
modules:
- Bass Maximizer
- Tube/Tape Saturation
- Sonic Decimator(TM) (bit depth and sample rate reduction)
- Quasi Stereo (mono-to-stereo)
- Filter 1 (low pass/high pass)
- Filter 2 (band pass/reject)
- Ring Modulator
- Flanger
- Phaser
Hyperprism is the first full-featured multi-effect package for the Soundscape
platform. Hyperprism for Soundscape is fully compatible with the SSHDR1 -Plus
digital audio workstation and V2 software, the popular Mixtreme audio card and
the new 32 track R.Ed digital recording and editing system.
Scheduled for October 1999 availability, Hyperprism for Soundscape has an introductory
US list price of $299. Purchasers of the 1.0 edition will receive the next upgrade
- including further new effects - free of charge.
