CreamWare should be the first manufacturer of audio cards
to ship an EASI driver for EMAGIC's Logic Audio series of MIDI/Audio sequencers.
The driver for Pulsar and SCOPE
DSP cards goes much beyond generic I/O capabilities and supports the full
EASI specification for control of DSP-based mixing and automation.
"The EASI interface
is an elegant and well defined specification that now allows to operate advanced
functionality of audio DSP cards from within Logic 4.0. This is a huge step for
desktop audio considering that such professional performance and usability was
previously only possible with systems costing 10 times the price of one Pulsar
card." says Michael Hirsch, Head of Software Development at CreamWare. "CreamWare's
full support of our EASI interface demonstrates how powerful improved integration
of DSP power with native processing is. This makes the Logic/Pulsar combination
an ideal system for users who demand professional performance within the affordable
price segment" states Chris Adams, Vice President Research & Development
of EMAGIC.
With the new EASI driver, Logic and Pulsar users can now enjoy better integration,
shorter latencies and increased performance over previous driver implementations.
DSP accelerated mixing and effects within the zero-latency environment of the
Pulsar/SCOPE systems can now be controlled directly from within Logic Audio 4.
The EASI driver for PC is expected to arrive within October, CreamWare intends
to ship the EASI driver for the Macintosh with their upcoming Mac release of the
Pulsar in November. The drivers will be available as a free download from CreamWare's
web site.
