E-mu Announces Lowest Cost Emulator EverE5000 Ultra offers E4 Ultra Emulator features at only $1695 MSRP
October 18, 1999
E-MU/ENSONIQ debuted a new low cost sampler at the AES
show in New York that offers Ultra Emulator performance at a breakthrough price.
Based on the same hardware as the market leading E6400
Ultra, E4XT Ultra, and E-Synth Ultra samplers, the E5000 Ultra provides 64
voices of sampling with 128MB RAM capacity for $1695 retail. The new sampler is
identical to the E6400 Ultra with exception that it is limited to 64 voices, has
four outputs instead of 8 (expandable to 12), and has a green backlit LCD display.
The sampler is available worldwide the first week of October.
Ultra
Power is now Ultra Affordable
E-MU's new sampler brings all the power of the E4 Ultra Emulator family to
an aggressive new price point by leveraging the volume of the E4 Ultra line and
optimizing the feature set for the market. The new sampler is fully EOS compliant,
which means it can take advantage of all the performance and features offered
through Emulator Operating System enhancements that have occurred regularly since
the E4 line was introduced 5 years ago. This new sampler also has all of the DSP
features such as linear phase filter, bit reduction processing, and the very popular
Beat Munging real time groove processing software feature. Beat Munging allows
the user to automatically loop a rhythmic groove and manipulate it in a variety
of ways including changing tempo in real time, changing time signature, or removing
or restoring beats.
"The E5000 is a real breakthrough for customers who want an E4 class
sampler but are on a budget" comments Scott Emmerman, VP of Sales and Marketing,
Western Hemisphere. "We believe that by making the power of the E4 Ultra
fine available at this exciting new price point, many more musicians will now
be able to take advantage of the powerful features of the Ultra line of samplers,
like Beat Munging" he concludes.
Compatible with most E4 Options
The E5000 is fully compatible with most of the options and upgrades available
or slated for release for the Emulator 4 Ultra line. This includes the output
expander option which increases the number of analog outputs to 12, the ADAT optical
interface which provides 8 digital inputs and 16 outputs to the E5000, and the
DWAM option which adds digital I/0, word clock, an ASCII interface, and 16 additional
MIDI channels. The only option that is not supported is the polyphony expander
board, effectively limiting the product to 64 voices of polyphony.
