Ensoniq Signs Development Agreement with Intelligent
Devices PARIS DAW Moves into the Future
October 18, 1999
EMU-ENSONIQ is announcing a new development agreement with
Intelligent Devices (ID), the firm that developed the software for the ENSONIQ
PARIS digital audio workstation. The agreement will allow the two companies to
better integrate the PARIS hardware with the Paris user interface and ensure ongoing
development of the system.
Enhancements to come to PARIS
The development agreement is welcomed by both parties and is expected to result
in several improvements to the award winning product which features up to 128
tracks of real-time record and play, advanced processing including support for
Direct X and VST plug in formats, a dedicated hardware control surface included
in the basic system, and 24-bit audio paths throughout the system.
"This development agreement is a major step forward for the PARIS platform
which will result in benefits to both existing as well as future customers,"
explains Kevin Monahan, Product Manager and Evangelist for PARIS. "The agreement
acknowledges the immense contributions that software makes to the success of PARIS,
and by increasing the level of involvement of ID even further, we expect that
PARIS will continue to attract and satisfy customers with its broad range of features
and cutting edge interface," he adds.
Terms of the agreement were not publicly disclosed, although the company did
disclose that the agreement is effective immediately.
