Steinberg to Release NUENDO for NT

Steinberg Soft-und Hardware GmbH today announced the release
of the NUENDO™ Media Production System. Aimed at audio for film, video and
interactive media markets, the Nuendo Media Production System is a modular system
centered on a software audio application for the Windows/NT platform and includes
several hardware accessories. NUENDO features up to 128 tracks of digital audio,
advanced featured surround mixing, a Video-Track, MIDI Tracks and the most comprehensive
functions for digital audio available.
NUENDO uses entirely native signal processing, which means that every function
is run from the computer's host processor. Today's computer systems not only offer
incredible processing power, but also offer expansion capabilities. Standard computer
equipment can be used to further enhance and upgrade the system. The user is not
tied to an expensive DSP-System with its defined and fixed feature set.
VST 2.0, the PlugIn architecture of NUENDO, is the world's largest standard
for audio processing PlugIns. All major PlugIn manufacturers such as Waves, TC
Works, Prosoniq, Spectral Design, INA etc. offer over 200 PlugIns for NUENDO.
ASIO, Steinberg's Audio Streaming Technology, also provides high performance,
and standardized access to a wide range of available hard and software. ASIO provides
support of audio cards from simple Stereo I/O solutions up to 48 individual I/Os
and up to 24 Bit / 96kHz quality. Additionally, ASIO provides Zero Latency Hardware
Monitoring and guaranteed sample-accurate sync to external devices. NUENDO synchronizes
video and audio devices via TLC, VITC and gives control over most Sony 9-Pin device.
NUENDO supports most computer systems capable of running Windows NT and Windows
98. NUENDO for the BeOS will be released later this year.
NUENDO will be available from Steinberg Dealers Worldwide in Q4 1999 at a MSRP
of US $1295.00
