Element 78 EQ-200 4-Band EQ from Summit Audio

Summit Audio will introduce the EQ-200 4-Band Equalizer
at the 107th AES Convention. Designed with Mr. Rupert Neve, the digitally controlled
EQ-200 offers a Class A analog path.
"When first conceived, our intention for the Element 78 line was to become
an out of the box standard for audio quality and system flexibility," says
Mike Papp, president of Summit Audio. "The EQ-200 adds incredible power to
the Element 78 lineup by integrating superior sonic performance with a powerful
4-band equalizer. This package is a necessary tool for any audio application."
Featuring Class A analog circuits, the EQ-200 sets a new benchmark for control,
precision and sound quality for EQ units. The EQ-200 features switchable shelving
or peaking filters for the low and high frequencies, sweepable low midrange and
high midrange frequencies, and high and low-pass filters offering a rolloff rate
of 12dB/octave. The filters can be stacked offering a steep 24dB/octave rolloff.
With an output noise spec better than -95dBu and THD below 0.001 percent, the
EQ-200 offers an extraordinarily clean and quiet performance, perfect for mastering,
mixing and tracking.
As part of the Element 78 line, the EQ-200 is fully controllable by a second
EQ-200 or by the MPE-200 mic pre/EQ. The EQ-200 can also control the EQ-200S
slave unit, a fully featured EQ with fewer front panel controls for cost savings.
The 25 on-board user presets fully reset and recall all parameters of the unit
with all information accessible by MIDI sequencers or data filing systems. The
full MIDI implementation allows for unlimited storage of project settings and
the automation of all parameters for quick and accurate mixing situations.

metering and metal shaft digital encoders, all combined with Class A discrete
circuits bearing the sonic stamp of Mr. Rupert Neve," explains Papp. "We
