DigiTech Studio S100 Multi-Effects Processor
November 17, 1997
The Harman Music Group announces the launch of a new division, DigiTech Studio, which
will exclusively offer products for the home and project studio markets. DigiTech Studio's inaugural
product offering, the S100, is a full-featured multieffects processor boasting dual effect
processing that can be configured in series, parallel or combined to provide powerful, true-stereo
effects.
Housed in a single-rack-space chassis, the S100 provides a myriad of tools, including stereo
reverbs, multi-tap delays, chorus, flange, tremolo, detune and parametric EQ. The unit's dual-engine
processors allow any one of seven different effect routing configurations to be utilized. With 99
factory programs provided, up to 99 combinations of user-defined programs can be easily modified and
saved via the S100's simple user interface. The processor is also MIDI and footswitch controllable,
so programs may be effortlessly changed on the fly.
No compromises have been made in the S100's design. Utilizing a 46.875 kHz sampling rate and 20-bit,
128-times oversampling conversion, the processor features a Signal-to-Noise Ratio greater than 98dB
(A-Weighted), Total Harmonic Distortion less than 0.008% (1 kHz) and full Frequency Response of 20Hz
to 20kHz, +/-0.5dB.
"We've set up a dedicated engineering staff to work on the DigiTech Studio line. completely
independent of our guitar processing division," says Jim Pennock, director of engineering. "This is
a team totally focused on the studio. Our new S100 is only the first offering in what we anticipate
will be a wide range and extensive line of products specifically for the recording studio market."
Suggested U.S. retail price on the S100 is a highly-affordable $199.95, placing the processor well
within the reach of even the most modest budgets. For more information, visit their web site at www.digitech.com. |
