Allen & Heath Releases Eight-Track Recording Mixer
January 1, 1997
Allen & Heath announces the launch of its second MixWizard Series offering, the
WZ20:8:2, a dedicated eight-track recording mixer complete with eight-bus routing and eight tape return inputs with stereo cue and effects routing. Of equal importance is its unique 'mixdown' switch, which instantly configures the inputs, giving multitrack signals the benefit of full-channel EQ, effects and inserts.
The WZ20:8:2's tape return paths are available as additional inputs providing a grand total of 28 inputs for mixdown. Offering eight mic/line inputs on balanced XLRs and jacks with individual channel inserts, each mono channel features six auxes on six dedicated knobs (the first four pre/post selectable and last two post-EQ) and four-band, two-sweep British EQ with EQ in/out. The six stereo line inputs have two-band EQ and access to all six auxes. Stereo channels are equipped with switches for -10dBu/+4dBv operation, while mono channels provide variable gain pots and -20dB pad switches. Full 100mm faders are employed throughout, as are controls for PFL, pan and bypass. Additional features include a I kHz lineup oscillator, talkback facilities and more.
The WZ20:8:2 offers Allen & Heath's standard 'bulletproof' construction, including vertically mounted circuit boards and bolted pots. Allen & Heath's QCC connector system allows rapid reconfiguration from desk to 19" rack formats and back without exposing the internal circuitry, making the WZ20:8:2 ideal for a wide range of mixing environments.
With its intuitive layout, rugged build and comprehensive features, this console is designed to appeal to professionals and enthusiasts alike in both the home and project studio markets. For more information, visit their web site at www.allen-heath.com. |
