Digidesign® Releases MasterList CD(TM) Version 2.1
August 30, 1998Digidesign has released version 2.1 of MasterList CD(TM), their popular CD mastering software program, which produces Red Book standard CD-DA masters. Version 2.1 adds support for two new CD recorders: the Sony CDU 948S/X and Yamaha CDRW4260, increasing the list of recommended recorders to 22 different models. MasterList CD version 2.1 now supports optional use of any PCI-based Digidesign hardware system for high-resolution output monitoring and digital transfers to DAT, including Pro Tools III and Pro Tools Project, in addition to the previously supported Pro Tools|24 and Audiomedia III.
MasterList CD version 2.1 is a host-based application that transforms a Power Macintosh into a cost-effective, professional CD mastering solution. The software allows you to use a compatible CD recorder and approved PCI-based Power Macintosh computer to write directly at 2x and 4x without creating an image file first. Adding support for the Sony CDU 948S/X and Yamaha CDRW4260, Version 2.1 is otherwise functionally identical to MasterList CD 2.0 and continues to support all the previously approved CD recorders, including units manufactured by Hewlett Packard, JVC, Kodak, Marantz, Philips, Pinnacle Micro, Ricoh, Sony, Studer, and Yamaha.
