Black Swamp Percussion Announces New Soundart
Snare Drums
July 7, 1998
Black Swamp Percussion announces its new line of SoundArt Series Snare Drums
with 10-ply maple or 1/8" thick brass shells. These drums feature the Precision-Glide
Duo or Trio snare strainer, which enables independent tension adjustment of multiple
snare systems by way of tension knobs engineered directly into the strainer body.
The Precision-Glide Duo has two independent systems (standard), and the Precision-Glide
Trio has three (upgrade). Each is outfitted with the player's choice of seven
snare configurations, which use Black Swamp's Classic Gold, blue coated, or stainless
uncoated cable, as well as curly wire units. Independent tensioning allows each
type of cable or wire to respond in its best dynamic range, creating a large dynamic
spectrum.
Other standard features include solid brass tube lugs, die-cast or steel counterhoops,
and a variety of finish choices. Maple drums come in a high gloss Walnut, Cherry-Rosewood
(both with chrome hardware), or Concert Black (with brass-plated hardware). Brass
drums come with an elegant Black Nickel plating, but are also available in lacquered
brass or chrome on special request. Calfskin heads are also available.
