Crate first publicly displayed their new DX212 Digital Amplifier
at the MusikMesse show in Germany, and now a smaller 1x12 amp configuration has
been released as well. Both models will be on display at Summer NAMM in July.
Designed with versatility in mind, the new Crate Digital Series offers a wide
variety of settings and effects easily accessed by an intuitive keypad. Each amp
includes 16 "true to the original classic amp voices", plus an additional
9 digital effects, such as: touch wah, compressor, tremolo, vibrato, chorus, flanger,
delay, echo, and rotating speaker. Effects can be combined, customized, and governed
using options such as the effect adjust control and the One Touch Programming
Keypad. The Keypad allows users to save and recall up to 10 of their favorite
settings or, with an optional standard MIDI foot controller, up to 100.
Other features of the Crate DX212 include Hi/Low Gain inputs designed to accommodate
active or passive pickup systems, master level control, gain control, 3 bands
of EQ, and a channel volume control. Reverb can also be controlled independently
of digital effects, allowing users the ability to fine-tune depth and simulate
room size. The stereo line in/line out can be used as an external effects loop
and MIDI Thru Out allows the option of controlling other devices using MIDI. The
DX112 is backed by 60-watts and one 12" Crate vintage speaker and the DX212
by 100-watts and two 12" Crate vintage speakers.
The DX112 lists for $779.99 and the DX212 for $879.99.
