April 22, 1999Marathon Computer is offering new solutions for
rackmounting Apple's new Blue & White PowerMac G3 machines.
The Marathon G*Rack is the quick-and-easy solution. Simply remove the four
handles of the G3, attach the G*Rack, turn it on its side, and stick the whole
works in a rack. The G*Rack is made of stylish anodyzed aircraft aluminum, and
the chubby Apple case requires 6U of rackspace. It is currently available and
shipping for $225.
The second mounting solution, the PowerRack G3 Blue, resembles Marathon's previous
PowerRack G3. It requires only 4U of rackspace, provides superior cooling, power,
drivespace, shock-mounting, convenience and portability. The PowerRack G3 is custom
engineered to your new computer; you must dissemble your Mac following Marathon's
illustrated instructions and reassemble it into the PowerRack case upgrade. Orders
are now being accepted, shipping will begin in (literally) a few days. Price is
$599.
Marathon Computer, Inc, still offers PowerRacks for the 8500, 8600, 9500, 9600,
G3, and even a few clones, as well as rackmounted keyboard drawers, monitor enclosures,
and complete line of drive mounting adapters and accessories. For more information, visit Marathon's web site at www.marathoncomputer.com. |
