Tech 21 Releases Power Engine 60 Series
August 23, 1999
Tech 21 has released two multi-function, 60-watt powered extension cabinets:
the Power Engine 60, which matches and complements their popular Trademark
60 combo amp, and the Power Engine 60T, which matches and complements their
recently released Bronzewood 60 dual-channel,
acoustic combo amp.
In addition to their obvious purpose, these open-back, 1x12 cabinets can also
be used with any direct recording device or acoustic pre-amp, analog or digital,
tube or solid state, in stomp box or rackmount formats, from any manufacturer
(including, of course, Tech 21s own SansAmp line). You can plug your pre-amp
of choice into a Power Engine and get 60 watts of volume without affecting the
tone. Engineered with ground-independent inputs and output, Power Engines can
be endlessly chained to double, triple, etc., your stage volume, as well as facilitate
stereo configurations --with a traditional amp or with a pre-amp and stereo processor.
Other features include individual level control, 3-band active EQ (to compensate
for less-than-ideal venues), 1/4 input and balanced XLR input and output.
The U.S. suggested retail prices are $395 for the Power Engine 60 and $425
for the Power Engine 60T, which includes a special-design high-frequency horn.
Manufactured in the U.S.A. by Tech 21, Inc.
