Generalmusic Launches Bachmann RPT114 Digital Piano

January 7, 1999The RPT114 Digital Piano from Generalmusic's Bachmann division is a digital piano housed in an elegant and traditional upright piano cabinet. Specifically created for the piano player who demands the highest level of technical and functional versatility, this instrument is a perfect combination of advanced technologies and quality handcrafted construction.

Available in a choice of Mahogany, Walnut or high-gloss Black finishes, the RPT114 features a full wooden keyboard (88 keys) with a real acoustic piano action. An innovative optical scanning system assures that the natural "feel" of the keyboard is not compromised in any way. A two-way 25W + 25W stereo speaker system (two 8" woofers and two tweeters) under the lid accurately reproduce the sound diffusion and dynamics of a real acoustic piano. Add to this Bachmann's extremely realistic piano samples, and even the most discerning pianists will feel as if they were performing on a traditional acoustic piano.

The instrument's exceptional piano timbre is created with advanced digital sampling techniques and exclusive physical modeling. Special 'FFT Merge' technology has enabled complex analysis of all the most appealing timbral characteristics of the world's greatest grand pianos, which have then been merged to create an absolutely unique sound.

The RPT114's 'Damper Physical Model' allows the damper pedal to recognize 16 different actuation levels as it is depressed (making half-pedal effects possible) and reproduces the authentic string resonance that occurs when one or more notes are played with the pedal pressed down. The 'Natural String Resonance' physical model simulates the natural vibration of unplayed strings when a note that stimulates harmonics is played. Up to 64-note polyphony is provided for maximum freedom of expression. Eight highquality original sounds--Concert Grand, Rhodex, Fm Piano, Harpsichord, Strings, Pop Organ, Jazz Org and Pipe Organ-allow pianists to appropriately perform in every music style, from classical to pop to jazz.

Two on-board, editable effects processors offer reverbs (Room, Stage, Hall) and effects (Chorus, Phaser, Tremolo). Additional controls include Transpose (+/-12 semitones), Tune (427.5 - 452.5 Hz) and Volume. A complete set of MIDI connectors (In, Out, Thru) allows the instrument to be connected to external MIDI devices, while two 1/4-inch jacks. permit headphone use.
