Square Circle announces the release of version 2.7 of its
popular sample editor, WaveSurgeon. Included in this release is full support for
DirectX based processing, as well as the NemeSys GigaSampler file format.
Priced at $52 for the Advanced version, WaveSurgeon can be ordered online
at the Square Circle website. Existing WaveSurgeon customers can also download
an upgrade patch from this site at no extra cost.
Version 2.7 provides new features and expanded compatibility, allowing WaveSurgeon
to be smoothly integrated into an even wider range of setups and musical styles.
New features include:
- Full Compatibility with DirectX plugins for 24-bit audio processing
- Comprehensive support for NemeSys GigaSampler and GigaSampler LE
- Batch mapping of files over SCSI, allowing users to easily transfer entire
sample catalogues to their samplers
- Improved Zoom and Selection tools
- Akai S2000 / S3000 / S3000XL support
The addition of GigaSampler support allows users of the software-based audio
sampler to integrate WaveSurgeon's advanced sample editing features into their
music production.
'The pairing of WaveSurgeon and GigaSampler allows musicians to quickly create
and edit loops, as well as work with large segments of sampled audio for post-production
and Foley effects work', emphasized Francis Preve, Program Director for NemeSys
Music Technologies, Inc. 'We're extremely excited by the opportunities presented by these features,
as they allow GigaSampler users to process and manipulate their samples without
the hassles of SMIDI configuration or lengthy SDS transfer', continued Preve.
