Aphex Systems Ltd., of Sun Valley CA, USA, manufacturers of
the Aural Exciter(TM) and other studio processors, are ready to release the Aural
Exciter(TM) Type III and Big Bottom(TM) Pro real-time DSP Plug-ins for the Soundscape
R.Ed and SSHDR1-Plus DAWs and the Soundscape Mixtreme PCI card.
The real-time plug-ins for the Soundscape V2 Mixer run on the Motorola 56301
DSP, with Windows 95/98/NT/2000 front end control, and are the result of a joint
development between Aphex and Soundscape Digital Technology. The plug-ins are
modeled on the Aphex Model 104 Aural Exciter(TM) Type III and Big Bottom patented
circuitry. Both plug-ins can run simultaneously on the same DSP chip, and jointly
require less than 50% of one 80MHz DSP's processing capability. Three Aural Exciters
or four Big Bottom instances can be run on one DSP.
Since 1975, the Aural Exciter has brought more clarity, detail, air, and presence
to recordings. The Big Bottom process works at the other end of the spectrum and
adds low end presence and punch without adding peak level. This allows you to
pack more bass into your sound without overloading recorders and amps or blowing
speakers.
The plug-ins were on show at the recent Paris AES convention and are scheduled
to now be shipping. They will be marketed exclusively by Soundscape
and Soundscape's distributors worldwide.
