GRM Tools RTAS Now Available
June 16, 2000Worldwide distributor of GRM Tools TDM, EMF, has just released GRM
Tools RTAS, a set of eight plug-ins for Digidesign's Protools
5 LE. Designed and developed by the Groupe de Recherches Musicales de
l'Institut National de l'Audiovisuel (INA-GRM) in Paris, France, GRM
Tools is the result of more than fifteen years of research and
development of sound processing software for use by musicians,
composers, and sound designers.
Joel Chadabe, EMF president, said: "This software amounts to one of
the most creative approaches to sound design tools that I have ever
seen. It goes beyond all normal sound-processing techniques to
deliver what are often astonishing results, and it's all the more
powerful because it's so easy to use."
GRM Tools contains innovative interface devices such as the
2-dimensional potentiometer, "elastic string", and "super-slider",
all of which have been designed by composers to make sound control
more intuitive and creative. The plug-ins allow composers and sound
designers to create new timbres with up to 128 delay lines, move
sounds through space, freeze sounds in time and build layered
timbres, create phasers and flangers, rearrange audio fragments to
create new sounds, transpose pitch without changing duration, add
reverberation, depth, and presence to sounds, and much more.
GRM Tools gives composers and sound designers an extended sound world
to explore. Based on the widely acclaimed TDM version of GRM Tools,
GRM Tools RTAS brings new power to the new Digidesign 001 environment.
GRM Tools RTAS is now available at the promotional price of $289. The
software is available through Pro Tools dealers or by download from
the GRM Tools website. For more information, visit their web site at www.cdemusic.org/special/grm. |
