Minnetonka’s MxTrax
and Mx51 programs now support the
Yamaha 02R as a control surface.
The O2R mixing desk can be used to control the mixer in MxTrax (and Mx51).
MxTrax uses a bidirectional MIDI interface to talk to the 02R. Moving a fader
on the 02R causes the corresponding fader in the MxTrax mixer to move. Conversely,
moving the Mxtrax fader using a mouse causes the corresponding motorized fader
on the 02R to move .
Using the 02R makes it possible to move many faders simultaneously in the
software, as well as giving tactile feedback and improved visual feedback to the
software mixer.
MxTrax plays fully automated fader movements through the 02R’s motorized
faders. Changes to the automation are incredibly easy to make - - by touching
the 02R fader, the MxTrax mixer channel is switched into automation update mode,
and the new fader positions are written into the automation.
The 02R joins the Mackie HUI, the CM Automation MotorMix, and the Yamaha 01V
as control surfaces that are supported by Minnetonka.
