December 5, 2000QSC recently reduced the price of the entire PLX Series of amplifiers. The
announcement was made by Pete Kalmen, QSC Director of Sales and Marketing.
"Weve lowered the price across the board by up to 20%" says Kalmen. "This has been made possible by
combining our component buying power with our new demand pull manufacturing process which have
lowered our material costs. We are now passing the savings along to the customer. Now the consumer
can step up to the benefits of QSCs PowerWave technology-based products for much less than was
previously possible. For just a few dollars more, you can enjoy higher power output capability, improved
sonic performance and lighter weight."
The PLX Series incorporates QSC's exclusive PowerWave switching power supply. The line's five
models range in power from 600 watts/ch to 1700 watts/ch at 2 ohms. Featuring advanced SMT (Surface
Mount Technology) design, the line delivers high power in a compact 2-RU chassis weighing only 21 lbs
(9.5 kg) and only 14" deep.
The PLX features studio-quality audio performance, including a virtually inaudible hum and noise (-110dB
20Hz-20kHz) and ultra-low distortion performance (.03% THD at rated power into 8 ohms).
Proportional-response clip limiters optimize limiting based on program material to preserve dynamics and lower distortion. The user selectable
low-frequency filters increase usable power and protect speakers. Other standard features include all-metal XLR and 1/4" balanced inputs, Neutrik
Speak-on and touch-post binding post outputs, and comprehensive LED indicators, including a three-step signal ladder, true clip, protect,
bridge-mono, and parallel input mode status. For more information, visit their web site at www.qscaudio.com. |
