August 26, 2000Version 2.03 of the PowerSampler DSP system is now available. Beginning
with this version, PowerSampler now also runs on the Macintosh platform.
The functionality of the Mac and PC versions is identical.
A major new feature of PowerSampler version 2.03 is its ability to sample
at 24-bit or even 32-bit resolution. PowerSampler is thus the first sampler
to support this advanced standard, which guarantees the utmost in sonic
fidelity. Version 2.03 also incorporates a number of minor improvements and
bug fixes.
PowerSampler is a complete studio-grade sampler on a single PCI-card. The
combination of highly sophisticated sampling software and powerful DSP
hardware ensures professional performance and perfect timing. The dedicated
DSP hardware enables PowerSampler to perform without latency while imposing
virtually no load upon the host CPU.
PowerSampler features 32 stereo voices, a 16-channel multi-mode, extensive
editing features including a fully integrated graphical sample editor, and
a 24-channel mixer with chorus and delay effects. Samples and programs in
AKAI S1000 & S3000, Soundfont 2, WAV and AIFF format can be loaded directly
from the computer's internal CD-ROM drive or hard disk.
The PowerSampler DSP hardware features four inputs and outputs offering
24-bit / 96 kHz quality (stereo analog and S/PDIF). Via the optional ADAT /
Z-Link Expansion, the number of available I/Os can be increased up to 36.
Thanks to an extensive set of drivers, the PowerSampler inputs and outputs
can be used for other software applications as well. The system comes with
ultra-low-latency drivers for ASIO 2.0, EASI, MME, DirectSound,
GigaSampler, tripleDAT, Sound Manager and OMS. Via the S/TDM Bus Connector,
a second PowerSampler card can be added to the system to double the number
of voices and I/Os.
PowerSampler users can download the PC update and the Mac version at
www.creamware.com. As the DSP hardware is identical for both platforms,
crossgrades can be made at any time at no cost to the user.
The suggested retail price of the PowerSampler system is 649 US$/EURO
net. For more information, visit their web site at www.creamware.com. |
