Marshall Introduces the Rock-Kit Guitar/Amp Package

Package includes Marshall's critically acclaimed MG15RCD combo amp

October 17, 2000

Marshall is introducing a rockin' guitar/amp package scheduled to debut in time for the holiday season: the Rock-Kit. The centerpiece of the package is an MG15RCD amplifier featuring Marshall's legendary tone, classic looks, and world-famous logo. The design engineers at Marshall hand-selected the Rocket Special - a fully featured guitar especially designed for the Rock-Kit package. Also included is an array of great extras comprised of Korg's GA-20 electronic guitar/bass tuner; a padded guitar gig bag and guitar strap sporting the world-famous Marshall logo; 15 foot guitar cable; a spare set of strings; and two Marshall picks.

Voiced by the designers of the Marshall Valvestate and JCM2000 Series amplifiers, the compact, 15-Watt MG15RCD features a 1 x 8" custom-voiced speaker; dual Gain stages; Treble, Bass and Contour controls; built-in spring reverb; line out and headphone jacks, and a CD input.

The Rocket Special axe features a sleek all-black finish and hardware. Its custom-wound, high-output humbucking pickup (lead position), plus two single coils (middle and neck positions), and 5-way selector switch provide maximum tonal versatility. The guitar also features a tremolo system, 21 jumbo frets, a fast action rosewood fingerboard, and the classic one volume, two tone control configuration.

"The Marshall Rock-Kit promotion is special because it includes the all-time amplifier of choice for rock guitarists - a Marshall," noted Amplification Product Manager, Nick Bowcott. "This affordable, all-inclusive package allows entry-level players to experience the celebrated sound of Marshall, simply by opening the box and plugging in."

The Marshall Rock-Kit package will be available beginning in October, 2000 for a suggested retail price of $429.00.
