System 6000 Now Shipping With New Software Release September 7, 2000TC Electronic flagship, System 6000 Multi-channel Processing Platform, is
now fully equipped with software version 1.10. While the system has been
shipping for several months in numbers that still leaves the production
facility in back-order, the new software is now finalized and implemented in
all units leaving the factory.
The latest software additions include i.e. more Location types for the
VSS-5.1 Source and Reverb algorithms, external hardware joystick support for
SpacePan(tm)5.1, a new VP8 Pitch change algorithm, which controls Pitch
across eight channels simultaneously, the VSS-SR algorithm (known from the
M3000 Studio Reverb) optimized for 4:2:4 surround productions, and MIDI
SysEx dump/receive plus Program Change.
"One of the advantages of TC ICON's high quality touch sensitive screen is
obvious when including new features and algorithms, since it is 100%
flexible, instead of being limited by a keyboard control", says Programme
Manager, Thomas Lund. "The graphical layout makes integration of new
features a breeze, and most important, it ensures that the intuitive and
ergonomic interface is retained throughout the continuous extensive update
program associated with the System 6000."
The continuous software releases associated with the extensive update
program will be available at a new web forum from the beginning of October
dedicated to System 6000. The forum will be located at www.system6000.com
and will consist of a public section and a
member section for System 6000 users featuring a software download section,
a preset exchange area, tips and tricks, a technical papers section, and, of
course, a news area.
System 6000 algorithms include the industry standard VSS(tm) Reverb
technology in two newly developed multi-channel versions, called VSS(tm)5.1
Source and VSS(tm)5.1 Reverb. The VSS(tm)5.1 Source algorithm is exceptional
for room simulation and accurate source positioning. With the VSS(tm)5.1
Reverb algorithm you can control up to eight single sources and dynamically
move the sources around in the surround field using either the
SpacePan(tm)5.1 algorithm or our cascadable TC Electronic external MIDI
Joystick SP-1.
Multi-channel, multi-band Dynamics processing is also available in the
System 6000. Additional classic TC algorithms provided are Pitch, Reverbs,
Chorus, Delay, Room Simulation, Phaser, EQ, and more, all at the highest
quality and resolution ever. Also included are 100 of the most famous
classic M5000 factory presets.
The System 6000 communicates via standard Ethernet connectors, and also
features MIDI, extra VGA and Keyboard/Mouse connections as an integral part
of its user interface. System 6000s began shipping in February 2000, and are
being installed in many industry leading audio production facilities
throughout the world. For more information, visit their web site at www.tcelectronic.com. |
