January 4, 2000 - Tama Rockstar Custom, Rockstar, and Swingstar sets are now
being shipped with a new 90 minute instruction video. Titled "Out of the
Box and onto the Stage," the video features drummers Kenny Aronoff, Mike
Portnoy of Dream Theater and John Tempesta of Rob Zombie. The three artists literally
open the boxes of new Tama sets and then show new players how to set the kits
up, tune the drums and even how to hold the sticks and play some basic "grooves."
Plus there's never-before-released concert footage of the three drummers.
Commented Tama Marketing and Advertising Vice President Bill Reim who produced
the video. "When we offered the first illustrated instructions on how to
set up a kit, one of our dealers commented that it was about time that someone
figured out that not every customer knew how to set up a drum kit. That's still
true. Well, the new video does an even more effective job of showing new players
how set up their kit. Even better, it will keep new players excited about playing
drums long the novelty of a owning a new kit has worn off."
The "Out of the Box onto the Stage" video is being shipped by both
Hoshino USA and Chesbro Music.
