n-Track Studio 2.1.4 Adds Support for VST Instruments
June 12, 2000The latest version of n-Track Studio adds support for both VST 2.0 plug-ins and VST instruments synths. Supporting both DirectX and VST plug-ins, the program now allows using virtually all the plug-ins available for the PC platform.
The VST instruments standard allows MIDI synths to be used as plug-ins whose audio output can be treated as a regular audio signal, processed by plug-ins and included in the main mix. Being sample-accurate VST instruments also eliminate possible audio-MIDI synchronization problems that often arise using regular MIDI synthesizers. With this enhancement the program becomes one of the very few audio editors currently supporting the new VST instruments specification.
n-Track Studio 2.1.4 is a multitrack recording and editing software for Windows 95/98/NT/2000: it allows recording, mixing and editing of a virtually unlimited number of audio and MIDI tracks. The program’s ease of use makes it perfect for small studios and for music hobbyists who want to record their own music.
DirectX and VST real-time audio Plug-Ins can be applied non-destructively to each track. Reverb, Echo, Chorus, Pitch Shift and Autovol DirectX plug-ins are included. Wave editing operations can be performed from within the program. Volume and pan evolution can be programmed by drawing on the timeline window. Once that a song is finished, it can be mixed down to a wave file that can be used for recording an audio CD or for creating, using the built-in encoder, an mp3 file to distribute through the internet.
