Antares to Port Auto-Tune and Microphone Modeler to UAD-1 Card

Technologies announced today that they have entered into a agreement
in principle to bring Antares's Auto-Tune 3 and Microphone Modeler
plug-ins to the Universal Audio UAD-1 DSP card.
The UAD-1 DSP card is the heart of UA's new Powered Plug-Ins product
line. Using a single proprietary DSP chip, the UAD-1 provides
processing which allows UA and its developers to
create plug-ins of for VST-based native
workstations.
"Although the power of native CPUs is increasing at a rapid rate, the
serious user's demand for more processing power is increasing much
faster," said Marco Alpert, Antares Vice President of Marketing. "The
UAD-1 not only provides the ability to run more plug-ins
simultaneously, but also offers the kind of raw processing power that
can inspire the creation of entirely new plug-ins that would simply
not be possible on a native system."
Hailed by the audio press, Auto-Tune
has become the worldwide standard for professional pitch correction
and one of the world's best-selling audio plug-ins. Like previous
versions of Auto-Tune, Auto-Tune 3 provides the ability to correct
the pitch of a voice or solo instrument in real time, without
distortion or artifacts, while preserving all of the expressive
nuance of the original performance. Auto-Tune 3 includes an Automatic
Mode for real-time pitch correction as well as a Graphical Mode that
displays the pitch envelope of the audio to be corrected along with a
selection of graphical tools that allow precise manipulation of the
performance's pitch.
Antares's TEC Award-winning Microphone Modeler uses Antares's
patented Spectral Shaping Tool technology to provide digital models
of a wide variety of microphones, from historical classics to modern
exotics. The user simply tells Microphone Modeler what microphone
they are actually using and what mic they would like it to sound
like. The plug-in then references the stored models of both the
source and target mics and processes the input to create the sound of
the desired mic.
