Yamaha Drums brings a new dimension in value and performance to the popular DTXPRESS Electronic Drum Kit with upgraded features. The five-piece kit, which will remain at its MSRP of $1,295, now includes a stereo cymbal pad, stereo snare pad, plus extra rack support bars.

"These are significant improvements which make the DTXPRESS more versatile than ever," states Jerry Andreas, Drum marketing manager. "Best of all, Yamaha has been able to incorporate these new additions without a price increase. That really brings the DTXPRESS to a new level."

The stereo cymbal pad (model PCY80S) allows drummers to duplicate a realistic cymbal choke, while the stereo snare pad (model TP80S) will reproduce more natural-sounding snare characteristics, including rim shots. The frame cross bars add extra playing stability and overall durability.

The DTXPRESS features high-quality rubber pads which are sensitive to the nuances of a drummer's playing style. The kit includes four drum pads, two cymbal pads, kick tower, hi-hat controller, hi-hat pad and a exclusively-designed rack system. The system sounds and plays like an acoustic drum kit, yet offers over 1,000 sounds with 128 GM voices, 80 drum kits, 127 songs, an integrated two-track sequencer, and Yamaha's unique Groove Check, which helps users hone in on the perfect groove. The backlit display provides easy viewing, even under low-light situations. The system can connect directly to a computer without an external MIDI interface. In addition, the DTXPRESS allows players to practice and perform in complete privacy, using headphones.

Dave Jewell, Drum product manager, states, "Before the upgrades, the DTXPRESS was the most advanced electronic kit on the market in this price range, and now it's even better. With the new additions, it will meet the requirements of either the beginner or professional drummer."
