Igor Engraver 1.4 Goes Commercial May 26, 2001NoteHeads Musical Expert Systems has announced Igor Engraver 1.4 for
Macintosh. Igor Engraver music notation software
has up until now been freeware but this new release, becomes payware.
Johan Lundberg, CEO of NoteHeads, says "The freeware strategy consisted of a free version of Igor Engraver and
additional plugins that were planned to be released for sale. Due to the
change in the market, we now need to charge for the basic version as well.
Igor Engraver is simply the best music notation platform ever developed - we
expect to have thousands of paying users very soon."
Igor Engraver 1.4 offers a new range of features such as
improved speed and stability, smaller file sizes, finer control of page
layouts and margins, easy feathered beaming, cross-staff chords, and much
more. As an introductory bonus, the program includes an advanced tablature
plugin. Igor Engraver for Windows will follow shortly after the Macintosh
release.
The full price of Igor Engraver 1.4 is $295, plus sales tax, but there is a
special introductory price for everyone, $195 - sales tax included - lasting
until June 10th. (The same introductory offers will also be valid for the
Windows version of Igor Engraver when it is released.) For the educational
market, substantial discounts are available, both for students and site
licenses. Student prices and cross grades will be presented after the
introductory period. These prices all include free upgrades to all coming
Igor Engraver 1.4 can be run for 30 days in
demo mode, with all features enabled, before any purchase becomes necessary.
Since June 2000, thousands of musicians have been using the free version of
Igor Engraver for Macintosh.
