PRESS RELEASE

Preview Version of Igor Engraver for Windows Released

March 21, 2001

Since June 2000, thousands of musicians have been using the Macintosh version of the Igor Engraver music notation software. Igor Engraver is actually freeware, which means that individual musicians or schools now can create sheet music without spending a penny on the software.

Now, a preview release of Igor Engraver for the Windows platform has been released. During the first 24 hours, over a thousand copies were downloaded.

Setting up a complex orchestral score in Igor Engraver takes only a few seconds. Igor Engraver knows all about ensembles and instrument sections and knows where to put titles, braces and brackets and where to break bar lines for maximum clarity; Igor Engraver also knows how to sort the instruments and how to transpose them. Parts and scores are linked together to speed up the engraving process.

Igor Engraver can save sheet music files in a platform independent format. The files can then be sold over the Internet in a secure way, and displayed, printed and played back using the Igor Reader (available both for the PC and for the Macintosh).

Says Johan Lundberg, Managing Director of NoteHeads AB "We are extremely proud to be able to release a preview version of this long awaited software. We know a lot of musicians have been waiting for this moment, and now it’s just a matter of weeks before the final Windows version gets released."

Igor Engraver 1.5 for both Macintosh and Windows will be distributed as freeware via the Noteheads web site and a number of other sites as well.
