Zildjian Introduces All New K. Zildjian Cymbal Range
August 29, 2001
Zildjian has announced that they have radically updated and improved their range of K. Zildjian Cymbals. The all-new K. Zildjian Cymbals replace the old version in all sizes and models and are available immediately.
The all-new K. Zildjians feature a series of significant visual and sonic improvements. The cymbals have been re-designed with new lathing and hammering creating, warmer cymbals that are significantly more responsive and versatile than their predecessors. Deployed by some of Zildjian's latest computer-driven precision hammering devices, there is an increased depth and sheer number of hammer marks imparted to the K's. A characteristic of the K. Zildjian range, this new hammering, creates even more body, greater musicality, and a stunning new look. Furthermore the model name graphics have been re-designed with an improved, more stylish and contemporary look. Last but not least, these new cymbals will once again feature the large 'K' logo on the bottom of the cymbals in much the same manner as K. Zildjian cymbals when they were first re-introduced to the USA in the early 80's.
Designed to excel in any musical environment, the new K. Zildjian's have great clarity and projection making them ideal for a variety of applications, not just Jazz. They can already be found in the set-ups of top players like Carter Beauford of the Dave Matthews Band, Dave Weckl of the Dave Weckl Band, and Steve Gadd, studio legend, currently on the road with Eric Clapton.
The new K. Zildjian HiHats have an improved wash and an articulate chick sound. The Crashes are dark, rich, yet warm sounding with a clear crash sound. The new K. Zildjian Rides are less pingy, less bright with even more body. "These new K. Zildjian's look and sound like the K's I remember in the early 80's," said company patriarch, Armand Zildjian.
Zildjian highly recommends the Brilliant finish option. The Brilliant finish creates a stunning, high luster and reflective finish using a high-speed buffing process that smoothes out the tonal grooves. This creates a slightly warmer, smoother sound that truly enhances the sound of the K. Zildjians.
K. Zildjian Cymbals were originally Cast Cymbals developed by Kerope Zildjian in 19th Century Turkey. They have been first choice in cymbals for Jazz legends like Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams or any one of a sweeping collection of the greatest drummers in history. Today, K. Zildjian's continue to be played by top artists in all fields of music from Hip-hop, Rock and Funk to Jazz, Fusion and Classical.
