| Nord Lead 3 OS Version 1.06 Released

The Nord Lead 3 OS V1.06 is the second official software upgrade for the Nord Lead 3 Performance Synthesizer. Clavia has spent the last couple of months since the initial release of the Nord Lead 3 improving and fine-adjusting its sound and functionality. One of the most significant changes, if you have V0.96 or earlier in your synth, is the increased polyphony to 24 notes which happened in V0.98. The new OS is free of charge when downloaded from www.clavia.se.
Here are some of the new features and major improvements:
- Overall optimization of parameter response times. Especially morphing of multiple parmeters now responds two to three times faster than before.
- Nord Lead 3 now responds to MIDI pan controller (MIDI CC#10).
- Stack Detune - works regardless if the Unison function is on or off. This way you can detune the voices of a stacked sound without using the Unison function.
- Oscillator bypass in the Filter section has been redefined to be OSC2 only bypass. This makes it possible to have an unfiltered FM sound in OSC2 and a filtered subtractive sound in OSC1 at the same time. However, if Noise is selected in the OscMix section then this noise is routed alone through the filter, (i.e. as it was before.)
- Mute function - by holding the Monitor/Copy button and pressing any of the following selector buttons, the selected function is muted (disabled):
- LFO1 or 2 Destination
- MOD ENV Destination
- OSC1 or 2 Waveform
- OscMod Mode
- Filter Type
- The individual parts (in Slots A-D) of a Performance can now be named.
- Performance solo listening - parts of a Performance can now be listened to individually by double clicking the corresponding Slot button in a Performance.
- Erasing banks now has an addittinal "are you shure?" step.
- The Output Level parameter has a new MIDI controller, MIDI CC#71. However, the synth responds to the normal MIDI volume controller (MIDI CC#7) "in the background". Now MIDI volume can be used with e.g. any sequencer software to do mixing without destroying any morph relation set up for Output Level.
