Sonic Reality Launches eSoundz with OmniSoundz Library, Free DownloadseSoundz label to focus on sounds and samples for native software synths October 20, 2001Sound development company Sonic Reality has created a new web site called eSoundz that will offer
free sounds and samples for Mac and PC-based native software samplers. Just head on over to the site and download ReFills for Propellerhead's REASON, sets of sounds for
the Emagic EXS24, Acid and REX file beats, sounds in Bitheadz DS-1 format, SampleTank format, WAVE, AIFF and others. The eSoundz site will also carry commercial products created under the eSoundz label.
The first commercial product
under the eSoundz label is OmniSoundz. Following the eSoundz label's focus on
sound for native samplers, OmniSoundz is a GM compatible library available
in many different software sampler formats.
All 128 standard GM instruments are provided, original and borrowed from Sonic Reality's archive of samples
including samples from larger Sonic Reality/Ilio titles such as
Concert Grand Pianos and Interactive String Section.
The 'GM' label can carry a bit of a stigma
when it comes to sound quality, but Sonic Reality points out that the sample sizes in OmniSoundz are significantly larger than a typical hardware GM sound module.
Bass guitar sounds are sampled from
Chicago's lead singer and bassist, Jason Scheff. "Ooh and aah" vocal
textures samples come courtesy of Roger Manning, keyboardist/singer of Jellyfish and
Beck.
Available formats for OmniSoundz include Emagic EXS, Bitheadz Unity DS-1, Digidesign's SoftSampleCell,
Propellerhead REASON, Steinberg HALion and more.
