TAL Audio has introduced the Kestrel Wind Acoustic PreQ Preamp. The product was developed specifically for the needs of the acoustic string instrument musician and audio engineer. The preamp provides an economical solution to interfacing requirements for acoustic instruments with either piezo or magnetic pickup systems.
The TAL Audio Kestrel Wind Acoustic PreQ Preamp is a studio quality, low-noise preamp designed for live performance and studio recording. The 100% analog design instrument preamp interfaces with both pro and semi-pro recording equipment, instrument amplifiers, and was specifically developed for direct injection recording applications.
The dual 9 volt battery powered preamp features the TAL AUDIO 3-band active EQ circuit and an ultra-high input impedance for optimum fidelity and transparent preamplification. The preamp eliminates the need to physically modify vintage or high end instruments by providing a studio quality external preamp in a portable package. Each unit is hand assembled in the USA using the highest quality electronic and mechanical components.
"The original prototype was designed almost a decade ago out of the need for a high quality preamp interface for vintage acoustic guitars with piezo type pickups. The newly designed circuitry has been refined over the years with both improvements in the overall fidelity and equalization circuitry to meet the requirements of today's home studio or award winning recording suite," states company President and product designer, Tim Luhrman.
The TAL Audio Kestrel Wind Acoustic PreQ Preamp has a list price of $139 and is available direct from the manufacturer.
