MOTU
announced today that Digital Performer, MOTU's flagship audio workstation
software, is coming to Mac OS X.
"As a Mac-only application, Digital Performer has delivered many
break-through features to Mac musicians and recording artists, such as
sub-millisecond MIDI timing accuracy and fully symmetric multi-processor
support," said Jim Cooper, MOTU's Director of Marketing. "Mac OS X offers
MOTU unprecedented opportunity to continue Digital Performer's leading role
in Macintosh music and audio innovation."
"Mac OS X Core Audio integrates audio functions directly into the operating
system in ways never before possible, making Mac OS X an incredibly
advanced operating system for professional audio," said Ron Okamoto, Apple's
vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. "The success of Mac OS X
with the professional audio community is dependent upon the support of great
developers, and we're thrilled to see MOTU bringing such an important
application like Digital Performer to Mac OS X."
The Mac OS X version of Digital Performer is expected to ship during the
second half of 2002.
