Kid Nepro Releases Third Karma Collection March 27, 2002
The latest release from Kid Nepro, Karma #3 goes heavy on the drum beats and rhythms. The programs have many
patches where you trigger a drum beat by pressing one note on the
keyboard and then use the Karma's real time controls to do everything
from trigger drum fills to control velocity, drum clusters and transpose
samples. Changing from scene one to scene two usually triggers a new
beat, so you get two different beats in each program.
The programs include many other sounds that will fit right in with Hip
Hop, R&B and Funk tracks. Rhodes Pianos, B3 Organs, Sub Basses and Spacy
Leads, Funk Guitars, Orchestra Hits and Strings & Pads.
The combos include complex poly rhythms that were created using the Karma
four GE's. Many combos have a rhythm section consisting of drums, bass
and guitar all using separate GE's playing below middle C. Above middle C
includes standard instruments like Keyboards, Strings, Leads and
Orchestra Hits that you can use to play along with the rhythm sections.
This one man band approach will have you jamming for hours.
In many combos Kid Nepro used the four GE's to trigger four separate drum
beats. On top of that included is a drum kit or percussion samples that
you can play along with. The Karma's real time controls are then added to
mix and fade the separate beats in and out. This technique turns the
Karma into the ultimate beat box. There are also many combos where you
trigger the drum beat by hitting the first chord function button or low C
on the Karma keyboard. On top of that are splits and layers across the
keyboard that you can use to play over the drum beat. Another type of one
man band approach.
