Digidesign Intros MediaDock Removable Storage Solution

Digidesign announced MediaDock, a removable storage solution for post production, professional, and project studios. The DigiDrive MediaDock Line consists of four products--MediaDock Shuttle|36, MediaDock Shuttle|73, MediaDock II chassis and MediaDock II+ chassis. MediaDock provides an optimal solution for data recording, exchange, and backup.
MediaDock Shuttles are designed to meet and exceed the requirements that are standard for DigiDrives. They can be easily swapped between DigiDrive and Avid MediaDock chassis without rebooting the computer (although Pro Tools must be relaunched), and up to eight Shuttles per channel can be daisy-chained for maximum real estate.
MediaDock Shuttles offer a less expensive alternative to standalone hard drives of the same capacity, and can be easily added when more storage becomes necessary. MediaDock Shuttles can also be sold to clients who prefer to receive projects on a dedicated drive, guaranteeing their media is private, portable, and easy to backup.
The DigiDrive MediaDock II chassis provides all the benefits of removable storage, with a compact form factor. With the additional StorCase receiver, MediaDock II+ makes the perfect record, playback, backup, and transfer station. The MediaDock's independent SCSI buses allow for configuration according to a facilities specific needs, including keeping audio and video on separate channels. Its compact 2U chassis can be stacked or rack-mounted.
