USB (Universal Sound Bank) announced availability of Plugsound Volume
4: Hip Hop & R 'n B Toolkit. This release is the full Mac-PC version that was previewed at the
NAMM show in January. Each Plugsound volume is a virtual instrument based on a professional
sample library, available as a VST2 plug-in (Mac-PC), as well as a MAS and RTAS plug-in on the
Mac.
Volume 4 is a sound module that offers 647 presets using more than 1,500
samples. It is powered by the UVI-Engine which features dual multimode filters, amplitude and filter envelopes and a killer mono-legato mode. The
engine allows users to edit each keyzone independently.
The focus of this collection was initiated by longtime R 'n B programmers, to obtain a stylish
virtual sample library that provides 585 Megabytes of samples. The
sound-design team put together a selection of loops, kits and multisampled instruments.
Despite being created by hip hop and R 'n B artists, this library offers sounds which will be
useful to composers working in many modern musical genres.
Loop and instrument categories offered on the library include: Construction kits (Timba-style,
Funk Mood, Talk-boxed, M&M, Pure R 'n B, Hip hop), Loops sorted by tempo, Instrument
phrases combo, Single phrases mapped to the entire keyboard for easy transposition (bass, fx,
guitar, hits, keys, synth), vinyl sounds, basses (phat, R 'n B), Keyboards, Guitars, Synths,
bass/synth Splits, vinyl fx, Drum kits, sorted Drums.
Plugsound 4 "R 'n B toolkit" is supplied on a CD-ROM with printed manual and sound listings,
plus multi-language PDF manuals & tutorials, and is mac and PC compatible. It will be available worldwide in May 2002, for a
recommended retail price of 99 USD.
USB products are distributed by Big Fish Audio in the USA.
