Online Collaboration Comes to Pro Tools LE April 9, 2002
Digidesign has announced that owners of Pro Tools LE products such as Mbox, Digi 001 and Tool Box/Audiomedia III can now benefit from DigiStudio's online collaboration features built into the latest version of Pro Tools LE software for the Macintosh.
Pro Tools 5.2 LE software is shipping with new Mbox units (currently Macintosh only). Registered users of Digi 001s and ToolBox/Audiomedia III systems running Pro Tools LE 5.1 or 5.1.1 software for Macintosh can go to the Digidesign Production Network website (www.digipronet.com) for the FREE Pro Tools LE 5.2.1 update.
Pro Tools LE 5.2 and 5.2.1 software add support for DigiStudio online collaboration. DigiStudio, made possible by a partnership between Digidesign and Rocket Network, offers a virtual recording studio environment that allows Pro Tools users to collaborate on the same session with other remote musicians and audio professionals using Pro Tools. Collaborators enjoy rich interchange of material, sharing all elements of their sessions -- from audio and MIDI tracks to plug-in settings to automation. By leveraging the power of the Internet, DigiStudio can eliminate travel costs and avoids having to send sessions by courier or FTP. It also shortens the production process by centralizing session management.
For the ultimate in geographic flexibility, Mbox is a portable Pro Tools micro studio that is shipped with Pro Tools 5.2 LE software. Now you can be on the road with your portable Mbox and plug-in to any Internet connection to send and receive Pro Tools session information via DigiStudio. The Mbox sets a new precedent for sound quality and audio power in a compact package at the affordable price of $495. Featuring 2 Focusrite mic preamps, Mbox couples professional-level quality with a 24-bit input-to-output signal path to guarantee pristine fidelity throughout the production chain. With a simple USB-powered connection, Mbox offers the ultimate in simplicity and power for audio production -- just plug in Mbox to the USB port on the computer, launch Pro Tools LE software, and you've got an instant, professional-quality audio production system at your fingertips.
