Fishman Introduces Pickups for Resophonic Guitar
November 3, 2002
Fishman's introduction of the Resophonic Guitar Pickup is the result of over three years of collaboration and effort between Fishman President, Larry Fishman and Paul Beard of Resophonic Outfitters. Designed specifically to capture the resonator guitar's slinky, swamp like tone, the Resophonic Guitar Pickup utilizes enhanced state of the art technology along with exclusive design criteria to reproduce the instrument's unique and complex waveform with amazing realism.
"We're totally thrilled with the results," states Fishman president Larry Fishman. "This pickup represents the latest innovation for slide, bottleneck and bluegrass players who use resonator guitars and want to achieve a true, natural amplified sound." Paul Beard adds, " I personally recommend this pickup for all my resonator guitars."
Available in both active and passive models, the Resophonic Guitar Pickup fits single cone instruments with either a spider style or biscuit style bridge and can be mounted in both metal and wood bodied instruments.
Powered by a 9-volt battery, the active model's discreet component design features a FET low noise class input stage voiced to match for the Reso's unique response characteristics. The current sipping preamp (12,000 hour battery life) boasts a signal to noise ratio of 94db and a system gain of 3db.
List price for the passive Resophonic Guitar Pickup is $129.95 while the active model lists at $159.95.
