TC Works Launches SparkME 2.5 for Mac OS X

SparkME, the free audio editor exclusively available for MacOS X has been updated to provide even more features and showcase the latest Spark technology.
"SparkME for Mac OS X has been a huge success," says Ralf Schluenzen, CEO of TC WORKS. "In fact, the free version was so successful that our server collapsed due to the high demand. With the new version, we would like to continue supporting Apple's efforts for OS X. With SparkMe 2.5 we want to help keeping the momentum up for OS X as a strong audio and media production environment!"
SparkME is a free version of SPARK, TC WORKS' realtime audio editing and processing application. Spark technology provides an innovative user interface concept and pro features: unlimited undo, an integrated data base, a play list section and a wealth of processing features including VST Plug-In support. All of these features are included in SparkME.
The application can be used to record, edit, process and master audio including the preparation of Projects for CD burning in SparkME's Play List, complete with realtime crossfades and iTunes and Roxio Toast support. The QuickTime movie feature enables sound editing for movies with accurate and stutter-free movie playback.
Version 2.5 features greatly enhanced editing and speedier file navigation. Projects with multiple audio files now open up to ten times faster.
All major audio file formats are supported -- from AIFF to WAV and SDII and all available QuickTime codecs. Sample rates of up to 192 kHz with bit depths up to 32bit ensure not only full compatibility with DVD specs -- but actually go beyond! The realtime sample rate conversion enables audio playback and editing of such high resolution files without requiring optional professional audio hardware.
SparkME for MacOS X takes advantage of a lot of the new technologies introduced with the operating system, like Apple's CoreAudio.

Note: SparkME users can upgrade to the also available SparkLE and SparkLE PLUS for X at any time. SparkLE provides more QuickTime features and audio processors as well as realtime VST support; SparkLE PLUS adds MP3 Encoding and a Reverb Plug-In.
