WMS 40 Microtools from AKG AcousticsNew series of components for the WMS 40 UHF wireless microphone system offer even greater flexibility and versatility February 13, 2002
Adding a new degree of versatility to a UHF wireless microphone system, AKG Acoustics today introduced its new series of WMS 40 microtools wireless
products. The new microtools wireless products are a series of components designed to work with the
WMS 40 SR receiver. The microtools line consists of the MP 40 micropen miniature speech transmitter; the SO 40
snap-on microphone transmitter; and the GB 40 guitarbug transmitter.
The WMS 40 microtools wireless products are the perfect addition to the WMS 40 system, according to Tom Stotler, AKG
Music and Touring Sound Market Development Manager. "The new microtools wireless products build upon the WMS 40's
reputation for high-quality UHF technology at an affordable price, by offering users a line of very useful, functional
components in the same cost bracket. With the microtools wireless products, the completely wireless show is now a reality
at an affordable cost."
The MP 40 micropen wireless product is a pocket-sized miniature transmitter designed to literally fit in the user's pocket or
hang around their neck for speech reinforcement applications. The integrated C 407 lavalier microphone can be detached from
the transmitter to optimize audio signals, while extra features such as a built-in antenna, ON/MUTE/OFF switch and battery
status indicator, and input gain control offer users a great deal of functionality packed into one discrete unit.
The SO 40 snapon transmitter transforms any dynamic microphone into a wireless UHF microphone, compatible with the
AKG SR 40 receiver. The SO 40 snapon transmitter includes useful features such as input gain control, DC/DC converter,
integrated antenna, ON/MUTE/OFF switch and battery status indicator.
With the GB 40 guitarbug wireless product, guitar players avoid the common hassles associated with long cables by taking
advantage of the freedom that wireless technology offers. The GB 40 guitarbug wireless products extend the optimized
frequency response for guitars and bass and its unique FlexJack swivel jack plug matches all guitar/bass inputs. The GB
40 guitarbug wireless product also provides input gain control, battery status indicator, an ON/MUTE/OFF switch, and an
integrated antenna.
Each of the new AKG WMS 40 microtools also feature replaceable frequency color code elements. Each product operates
on a single AAA Alkaline or rechargeable battery. All three microtools' products include integrated charging contacts for easy
use of rechargeable batteries. The CU 40 charging station, is an optional accessory that functions as a dedicated battery
charger for the microtools series of products.
Staying true to the affordable nature of the WMS 40 UHF system, the SO 40 snapon transmitter and GB 40 guitarbug
wireless product both have list prices of $178.00. The MP 40 micropen and SR 40 Receiver both list for $198.00. A
complete WMS 40 UHF Wireless System with either a SO 40 snapon transmitter or GB 40 guitarbug wireless product
combined with a SR40 receiver lists at $ 378.00. The complete WMS 40 UHF Wireless system with the MP 40 micropen
retails at $ 398.00.
