DashSynthesis.com is primarily known as a site selling Reaktor patches, but now they are moving into a new direction, creating more widely usable VST plug-ins. All programed on C++ with the latest compilers, including support for SSE (Athlon included), MMX and P4 instructions, for efficient operation.
Their first VST plug-in released is daAlfa2k for PC, based on the famous AlphaJuno2 synth. It goes beyond just being a clone, since it provides features not found in the original.
Product Specs:
- 3 Oscilators, each with Pitch, Tune, and PW. Plus, a noise generator.
- 24db (4 Pole) Resonant Filter with "Automatic Gain Reduction" Extra HighPass 1-pole filter on the output.
- 2 ADSR Evelopes with Velocity control. ENV2 can be atached to Filter Cut and Rezonance.
- Digital Delay with Modulation (up to 1 second)
- Double Chorus to make the sound deeper.
- Digital Display that shows the value of each parameter at one time. (Like the MemoryMoog had).
- 2 LFOs, one just for PW contro, the other for Pitch/Filter with Delay.
- Up to 16 voices.
- True Mono-Legato mode with glide
- Complete manual in HTML format.
New on Version 1.48e
- Faster code. Added support for SSE (Athlon included), MMX and P4 instructions. Can be 60% faster depending on the CPU type.
- Doesn't crash Orion on exit anymore.
- Pitch and Fine can have negative values Also fixed all pitch problems.
- PitchBend value selector, from 1 to 12 semi-notes. (total of one octave up or down).
- "Defaults" option. Saves a few parameters on the Windows-Reg. So every time you plug a new synth, comes with the default values. Saves: Volume, NVoices, PitchBend, SoundQuality.
- Using Glider puts synth on mono-legato mode, and is saved on the presets now.
- 90 Presets + Random preset generator with 3 types of generation: Bass, Pad, Phat, FX.
- Sound Quality selector, for saving CPU usage.
- Own preset manager compatible with Cubase. V1.48 has a even better one.
- MIDI-CC implementation chart.
- Low CPU usage with advanced voice alocation.
