U & I Software has released ArtMatic Voyager, a new application for 3D world design for MacOS by Bryce creator Eric Wenger.
ArtMatic Voyager allows artists to create, explore and render stunning, photo-realistic 3D worlds with exquisite detail. It uses non-polygonal rendering techniques that allow huge worlds (several times larger than Earth) to be created from compact files. ArtMatic Voyager worlds can be based on either the built-in planet models or external ArtMatic files. ArtMatic Pro (available separately or as a bundled program) can be used to design entirely new terrains, color textures, cloudscapes and backdrops.
ArtMatic Voyager can render both high-resolution images and animation. The large library of provided examples makes it easy to begin exploring right away, and the advanced tutorials provide instruction on using ArtMatic Pro to design new worlds from scratch.
Availability and Pricing
ArtMatic Voyager is available now as a download for $129 standalone or bundled with ArtMatic Pro for $299 (download). ArtMatic Voyager runs natively under MacOS 9 and MacOS X and is Panther-compatible.
