DTS Encoder for Nuendo Now Available

Steinberg has announced the availability of the DTS (Digital Theater Systems, Inc.) Encoder for Nuendo Production Systems.
DTS is one of the two industry standard formats for Surround Sound developed by Digital Theater Systems and burst onto the scene with Stephen Spielberg's box office success Jurassic Park. It has since made major strides not only in the movie industry, where it provided a similar experience to Dolby AC-3. DTS also finds its place in music and audio production for DVD-A and SuperAudioCD, where the increased fidelity of the rear speaker pair means that compressed or full bandwidth audio can be placed in all speakers in the Surround field.
This encoding format will be available as a plug-in encoder for use within Nuendo itself, designed to alllow the same platform as the program which is used to create the audio to author the final product.
The DTS encoding process has been specifically licensed by Steinberg to offer Nuendo users access to the next stage in the Surround Sound production process. The implementation is simple. The encoding is integrated as DTS file format in Nuendo's export dialogue. The necessary routines are all automated so that the user merely needs to define which files should be DTS encoded - ready for use in the authoring stage. The DTS encoded audio can be saved as a WAV file to directly burn a 5.1 mix to CD.
The Nuendo DTS Encoder will be available from Steinberg dealers worldwide soon for a suggested retail price of €854,-- plus VAT.
