May 16, 2003

Bad Cat Amplifiers is now shipping its new high gain Hot Cat 15 guitar amp. Seeking to fill-in the vacuum for higher gain tube amplifiers, the Bad Cat company expands its base by supplementing its Hot Cat 30 with the new Hot Cat 15.

Packaged in the same diminutive and very portable 24"x19" cabinet as featured with the 30 watt version; the new Hot Cat 15 develops loud output levels via matched dual EL-84 power tubes. The new 15 delivers smooth to cutting-edge overdrive sound with a bit more mids and a bit more compressed tones. The preamp functions and control layout remain true to the original model. Even the trick tone section knob sequence remains unchanged: GAIN, EDGE, LEVEL, (interactive) BASS and TREBLE.

Comments James Heidrich, company President, "Mark Sampson's layered 12AX7 Hot Cat design approach has proven to be very popular among all guitar players seeking controllable high gain potential coupled with very responsive tonal colorations. This formula has been working for Bad Cat in spades for almost 2 years as we see ever increasing sales for the Hot Cat 30 in both combos and heads. In fact, we have noticed that several novice and professional artists alike often desire more high gain capability with today's music styles and some don't look to a Pro Class A amp for this. Once guitarists try the Hot Cat, they learn what a responsive high gain amp can do to nail notes in a serious overdrive mode. Furthermore, though repeat Bad Cat buyers understand what we are about, largely through the Hot Cat's performance alone, we observe many new purchasers are being drawn to the brand. I believe that any player that is looking for faithful Hot Cat sounds in a bit lighter unit will be unquestionably satisfied with the new 15. "

Dimensions: 24"W x 19"H x 10.5"D, weight: 50 lbs., MSRP: $2479
