June 4, 2003Made in America, the new Music Man S.U.B. was designed by company president Sterling Ball and his design team, coming in with a retail price tag of $645.
"Foreign manufacturing along with current economic woes have put tremendous pressure on top quality American made instruments and their price points," said Sterling Ball, president of Music Man. "Many companies have all but given up on domestic manufacturing, but we at Music Man really feel that with clever engineering and alternative materials along with more focused manufacturing techniques, we can prosper as a true American manufacturer. The S.U.B. is the first example utilizing this protocol," he continued.
The S.U.B. Bass, available in white, black, teal and red, comes stocked with passive or active 2 band EQ electronics, volume, treble and bass.
The neck features a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with a black painted neck and headstock, and 6-bolt attachment for perfect alignment with no shifting. The diamond plate aluminum pickguard surrounds a Music Man Humbucking pickup.
