Lace and Pick-Up the World Announce NTS Acoustic Guitar System April 30, 2003
Lace Music Products, in conjunction with it's new polymer film pickup partner Pick-up The World, has developed a completely new system for acoustic guitars called the NTS.
This new transducer system is a multi-sonic gathering array that utilizes patented pure-film technology developed by PUTW and the patented, and patent pending magnetic Acoustic Blade technology developed by Jeff Lace, Vice President, Lace Music Products.
The system is comprised of a new proprietary film technology that uses a special micro-weave Kevlar material, which eliminates the tinny brittle sound normally associated with saddle piezo pickups. This sensor is then combined with the Lace Acoustic Blade, which is a virtually invisible magnetic pickup roughly the width of a fret wire, at the end of the fingerboard. Further, the NTS system is available in either a passive configuration, or with preamp and EQ capability.
The NTS system is being developed for OEM applications as an Acoustic Blade/polymer film combination. The magnetic Acoustic Blade technology can also be used under the fret board, thus offering a completely invisible hybrid system for guitar manufacturers.
"We have been fine tuning our patent pending, under-the-fret board-technology for over a year now, and with the new PUTW film technology we have created the ultimate sensing system for acoustic guitar", added Jeff. "By combining this with the fast attack and extremely natural acoustic properties of the PUTW under-the-saddle pickup, the system covers all the bases from intimate coffee house settings to full-blown rock venues", says David Enke.
The NTS system will be available for both OEM manufacturers and for aftermarket sales by mid-summer. For more information, visit their web site at www.agi-lace.com. |
